Why do we journey?, asks Kismuth & The Way

In a world of ever-moving, always-posting mainstream imagery and ‘content’ to ‘consume’, Kismuth & The Way is a gentle reminder that sometimes, the most valuable of journeys take place when everything is… turned off. When we can feel still.

Through 2024, writing a column for Charlotte, NC-based magazine Saathee, author Dipika Kohli (Breakfast in Cambodia, Kanishka, The Dive) shares what she sees, from the most ordinary of everyday corners in Phnom Penh.

Through the hot and rainy season, she learns to rearrange new narratives of the memories of her former selves, sifting through a decade’s worth of written notes, and in the process, discarding reams. ‘Is this all?’, asks Kismuth & Way.

‘What’s next?’ it inquires.

Uncomfortably, but honestly, it probes: ‘And, why?’

Update: Now with a foreward by Saathee Magazine Editor Samir Shukla.
