From 2022, Kismuth is starting a membership club in which people who are part of our community in a substantial way can meet each other.

'Writing books isn't the best way for me to generate conversation,' says Kismuth Books' editor-author Dipika Kohli. 'So I want to change things. I want to get a club together. Maybe we'll have a speakeasy. Maybe it'll be online. I want to get together with some whom I've really gotten to know, and introduce you to each other. Maybe also go back to photographing the street, where I am. Offline.

'I want to go back to making photographs so as to slow down. Really slow down. Really see.'

INSPIRATION FOR PHOTO CLUB. This new direction for Kismuth--membership, instead of books, has a new focus. Photozines. Kismuth has been inspired by two key team members of the Atelier S P A C E project, who, near and far, continued to co-create the e-mag S P A C E with Kohli. All through. The whole time. Of. The. Pandemic. They are street photographer and chef Van Tran (Saigon, 2020-21) and digital photographer Nils don Sihvola (Riga, 2019). 'Both are highly aware of their surroundings and have taught me to slow down, in order to focus, and then, to see. See see. Not just look. But see. It's artful... and I want to get back to that kind of art.'

Maybe you are interested in photography too?

If yes, membership here is a good way to be part of conversations to come.

Get 'The Book of Slow Moment' when you start your membership. BOSM is a PDF of photographs by Kohli made in Finland. She was invited to join an artist residency with AIR Frosterus in the summer of 2018. This is a picture from that time...
